No Different
4/14/21
I’m no different than the brick on the side of the wall.
I’m no different than the very sidewalk we lay on.
My different thoughts are similar to his different thoughts to her different thoughts to their different thoughts.
I so helplessly want to be special,
but that’s just the same as them,
and I can’t see it any other way!
I picture my handsome self
on the flashing red carpet.
Then I imagine I’m the husband
standing right behind.
Nobody is different
and this isn’t too.
I so helplessly want to be special,
no different to you.
Originality has already been thought
before and after I’ve thought it.
Just like this thought,
and that one too.
Lay waste in the head
then I die in bed
like him, her, them too —
no difference to you.
